I am so excited it’s Halloween!
This is one of my favourite days of the year. Thankfully no major events today so we are having a small Halloween Party for family and friends this evening. The kids are dressing up as a Princess, a Lion and a Dragon. We carved our six pumpkins last night and they look fabulous and spooky along our pathway to the door and we will start decorating the yard as soon as breakfast is done. Too bad it’s sooo cold.
Tonight we will serve some great halloween food to our guests and I thought I would share a couple of simple and quick Halloween ideas and recipes with you that I found on one of my favourite blogs BLOOM.ACIOUS.com
SINFUL DELIGHT – BLACK MARTINI
This Chocolate/BLACK Martini is an amazing cocktail for Halloween.
2 ounces of Godiva Dark Chocolate liqueur
2 ounces of Creme de Cacao
2 ounces of freezing Goldenbarr Chocolate vodka
2 tablespoons of shaved white chocolate
2 well chilled, classy looking martini glasses
Dip martini glass rims into water or syrup and then into the white chocolate shavings. Combine the Godiva Chocolate liqueur, Creme de Cacao, and Goldenbarr Chocolate vodka into a cocktail shaker full of cracked ice. Shake and pour into prepared martini glasses. Garnish with adorable ghost as shown 🙂
GOOEY CARAMEL APPLES
1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8-oz.) package toffee bits
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Stir these together in a saucepan over medium heat until blended and allow to cool. Dip apples that have been fitted with a stick as shown above (or pears work nicely too) and set aside until the dip sets up. Extra great with a sprinkling of chopped nuts. Makes enough for about 6 large apples.
HAVE A SPOOKY HALLOWEEN & ENJOY!
